We are encouraged through your prayers and support. Camping is a vibrant ministry that brings children, youth and adult closer to God through Jesus Christ. Please use these updated materials to help invite more participants to camp this summer.

Your congregation, whether it is small or large, city or rural, has the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others through the camping ministry.
  • Send Campers to Camp (promote camping to children, youth and adults)
  • Financially Sponsor Campers (many congregations offer to pay for some or all of campers’ fees)
  • If you don’t have people in your church who want to go camping, consider outreach into the community, a school or other congregation to help sponsor campers.
  • If your congregation has raised or set aside money for camp scholarships in excess of what it needs, consider sharing it with the conference camp scholarship so that no child or youth is denied the opportunity to go to camp. Checks can be written to Michigan Conference UMC and designate CCMM#3017 – Camping in the memo line. Giving in this fashion will count toward the Engage ministry shares.
  • Pray for our camps, staff, volunteers and campers that these sacred spaces can continue to be hallowed grounds for connecting faith, life and renewed relationships.
  • Volunteer to help during spring clean up days (see details), as a short-term summer staff, dean or counselor. Contact the site of your choice to get involved.
We praise God for the connections and spiritual life made fresh at our camps. Thank you for your support. Judson Collins, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron and Wesley Woods Camps are ready to welcome new and returning campers plus Lakeview (RV Campground) for families and groups. There are over 50 events to choose from for all ages (see below to learn about new events). Please check them out. See you at camp!
