Hone leadership skills while building supportive relationships and growing spiritually with others on the journey of faith. Gain tools and techniques to care for children in an outdoor ministry setting. Successful participants are eligible to serve as volunteers counselors. Campers must be at least 16 years old. A unique opportunity to encounter God’s creation while hiking and camping with friends in the beautiful Canadian wilderness. Beginner and experienced hikers are welcome to participate in this adventure. Dean: Sam Crabtree.

A one day, 2 meal introduction to the faith forming fun and fellowship of Christian camping.

For local church Scouting coordinators, Scout leaders, Clergy, Youth Leaders, and Scouts: Boy Scouts, Webelos, Bear, Wolf, and Tigers. Come as a patrol group, den, or family. Work to complete the P.R.A.Y. (former God and Country) achievement awards. Fish, hike, swim, canoe or kayak. A great place to start or finish up on water related merit badges. Adults will focus on the role of scouting ministry and how it can increase church membership. Dean: Rev Dave Wichert.

Explore several Michigan universities from the unique viewpoint of a kayak. We will tour the colleges by foot, boat, and bike. This camp will start in East Lansing on the banks of the Red Cedar at a school that is known to all. Don’t worry, we will also be going down the Huron River where we will Hail!

Enjoy staying at camp with a wide range of available activities or use camp as a secure base for enjoying the holidays in northern Michigan. Come for all or part of the time. Programmed activities are offered. Price is per person – Adults $55; children $45.

A unique opportunity to enjoy 3 nights at Kinawind and 3 nights exploring the wilderness of an off shore island. Campers will set up a base camp on South Manitou and explore the dunes, a ship wreck, old farm areas, and the lighthouse.  Dean: Weatherly VerHelst.

Are you ready for an adventure? Let’s go on a 4-day journey into the great outdoors of Northern Michigan!On this trip, young men will experience and learn about God’s creation as they backpack 30+ miles through Michigan’s wilderness. Participants will learn backpacking, camping, outdoor cooking, and basic survival skills, while simultaneously learning and growing together on an outdoor adventure. Be prepared for physical rigor.

A serious Voyager style event for our middle school age campers. Start with a day of orientation and group-building fun at camp. Then launch into the Black River of NE Lower Michigan on Tuesday. Harry Potter fans unite at Bugwayji/Manitou  Camp for Mysticism and Invocation – where campers play quidditch, care for magical creatures, and discover the wonders of a friendly forest. Avoid a Mauling Maple as you soar over treetops. Delve into divine eternal mysteries found in ancient sacred scrolls revealing how the power of friendship, caring, and devotion united by the love of God can dispel fear and help us cope with the uncertainties of growing up. Join us on a kayaking, hiking and biking adventure to Lake Superior’s picturesque Grand Island. We will explore spectacular sea cliffs, arches, sea caves by water, as well as beaches, forests, and miles of trails by land. Deans: Rev. Dan Duncan/Rev. Chris Lane.

This trip will challenge you not only physically, but mentally as you dig deep into your inner strength and stamina in the midst of God’s beautiful creation of pink granite bluffs, quiet wilderness, ancient woods and deep waters. We paddle and carry our food, gear, and canoe on the portage trails. It is physically demanding, but not beyond the ability of the active woman who is ready for a wilderness adventure. A getaway for pastors and other ministry professionals to prepare for the fall and beyond. Take time to refocus; walk the labyrinth or the trails, swim, paddle, read, meditate, network with colleagues and refresh yourself. This is your time to balance planning and rejuvenation without typical weekly distractions. Bring whatever resources you need; we’ll provide space, meals and a beautiful natural setting to refresh your soul and mind. Dean: Rev Eric Stone.

Minors must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian. A veteran conservation officer-turned-pastor will help you to be a better and safer hunter while learning to be a better Christian. The course includes certification.

Families and adults are welcome to this weekend of fun, worship, adventure, fellowship and the Michigan Labor Day  tradition of walking The Bridge. Whatever your idea of camping is, we have it for you. Bring your tent, pop-up camper or SMALL RV and we’ll have a group area campsite for you—or stay in a cabin, dorm or lodge room. Join family and friends and share good times: Cook out, swim or boat on Wamplers Lake, go for a hike, go for a wagon ride through our scenic trails, and experience other adventure activities. Come together with the family of God and fellowship with others around the campfire. The second level of our leadership development program, CIT is a two-week session (campers go home over the weekend) designed to equip teems for ministry. The CIT’s will  interact with children, participating in a variety of diverse workshops, Child Protection Training, and shadowing counselors. During the final week CIT’s will spend most of the time with a designated group of campers. Participants will also explore aspects of ministry and leadership such as studying and teaching the Bible, servant leadership, teamwork, and communication. Collins Crew and CIT campers will interact, and will participate in some the same activities.

Come and be part of an awesome leadership development program. In this program, campers will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, learn more about what happens at camp, and have the chance to deepen their relationship with God. As a participant in Collins Crew, you will be challenged in your relationship with God as you live on-site for a two-week program (campers go home over the weekend) and serve alongside our staff in a variety of different camp departments. As well as being mentored and working with our staff, you’ll enjoy fun activities like waterfront time, games and activities, hang-out times, and even an off-site trip!

Each day is jam-packed with exciting activities designed especially for the Trekkers. some of the group activities for Trekkers include home-in-the-woods bridge hike, homemade pizza and other cookouts, polar bear swim, canoe to the state park, water carnival, initiative games, crafts, and farm class.

This event is for developmentally challenged adults who are capable of meeting their own basic self-care needs. A questionnaire to assess needs and abilities/skill levels will be sent to applicants and must be returned before being accepted into this program. Ages 18 and older.

In an introductory camp experience, young campers will spend three days and two nights and will have the opportunity to try out a variety of camp experiences, including nature activities, cookouts, swimming, canoeing, games, crafts, and a farm visit.

There is never a dull moment with the Trekkers! Each day is jam-packed with exciting activities designed especially for the Trekkers. Some of the group activities for Trekkers include home-in-the-woods, bridge hike, homemade pizza and other cookouts, polar bear swim, canoe to the state park, water carnival, initiative games, crafts, and farm class.

Wild West: Learn to shoot archery, sit around the campfire and hear tall tales of cowboys, solve a mystery down at the farm, and do other wild west activities.

Explorers are always searching the outer bounds of their exciting camp program! Join them as they explore new horizons. Group options for Explorers include home-in-the-woods, sleep out under the stars, night hike, more advanced cookouts, water carnival, canoe to Round Lake, climbing wall and challenge course, and crafts.

While living at the Judson Collins farm, you will have a chance to hold a baby chick in your hands, brush out the horses and donkeys, learn to plant, grow, and harvest vegetables, jump in the hay, and do many other activities as you experience life as a farmer for a week. Head over to the ranch and go for an hour’s trail ride (offsite trip.)

Bring your favorite stuffed animal and join us for a first-time camping experience. Each child is accompanied by a favorite adult. Program staff will guide you through a fun-filled program that lets you choose your camping experiences.  Enjoy activities such as: swimming, crafts, Bible Study, and other camp activities. One t-shirt per person and one DVD per family. Price is for one adult/one child.

Pioneers are full of energy as they learn about God, and all of the fun to be found at camp. This is a retreat experience designed for men and women ages 65 and older.  Step away from the busyness of everyday life and come to the lakeshore for fellowship, rest and worship.  Bible study music, campfires, outdoor recreation and time for relaxing along the waterfront are all activities built into this mid-week event.  Meals are designed with the senior adult in mind and a nurse is available during the event to assist guests in any way necessary. Pastor David Freeland and Miss Kathleen Bard return as Deans and will share their love for the lord and their gifts of music. Raymond and Susan Buggs will entertain and delight you around the campfire with their music and comedy! This is an overnight retreat for all adults who love music.  Arrive Friday evening and jump right into rehearsals and fellowship.  Rehearsals continue through Saturday, with a break in the afternoon for enjoying the local sights in the Blue Water area.  The weekend concludes with a special concert in Poole Chapel for the local community.  Retreat fees include a full set of sheet music that covers the liturgical year for each participant.  Single:  $151; double $126; Triple: $115;  Commuter: $60

Gigglefied, zany, impromptu, unscripted, spontaneous fun! Using the Beatitudes, campers learn that the closer we follow Jesus by reading His Word, praying, and being thankful, the happier our hearts will be. The happier our hearts, the brighter the light of Jesus shines from us onto others.

At FIT Faith Challenge, we see children as image bearers of Christ, living out the physical gifts with which God has blessed them. Unique opportunities include kickball, basketball, water sports, soccer, volleyball, relay races, and more.
