Camp Scholarships Help Children

“Wow!  What a great and kind thing that has been done by the camping ministry so many of you support.  Directors Dana and Duane Hunt from Lake Michigan (Pentwater) and Director Sherry Stone from Kinawind Camp (Boyne Falls) welcomed 21 refugee children to join them for a week of camping from July 21 through July 28.  The children come from the Grand Rapids area and are Congolese refugees associated with the new church start Restoration Community UMC under the leadership of Pastor Banza Mukalay.

“You made this possible through your gifts to the camping scholarship program. Your gifts gave these kids an experience of a lifetime! When asked what they loved best about their time it was always the same – going swimming! Of course the Bible teaching, worship, food, friends were on the list of bests as well.

“So, thank you, thank you, thank you for making this camping experience a reality!”
