Volunteer

Without our volunteers we would not be able to continue to grow in our efforts to make disciples of Jesus Christ. You can choose to join us for a work day, volunteer for a week of camp, or bring a church group to do a work project.

Volunteers are always needed for short-term projects at the retreat center.  Spring, summer and fall are critical times in which volunteers can be utilized for gardening and landscaping.  There are also simple maintenance projects to be completed during that time – including carpentry, painting and beach clean up.

Thanks for volunteering! Contact Ann Emerson, director, lakehuronretreatcenterdirector@umcamping.org.

Travel Trailer

For every 4 hours of volunteer work, you can stay one night in our travel trailer. Enjoy the beautiful lakeshore and help the Lake Huron Retreat Center ministry at the same time!

God’s Treasures Camps

God’s Treasures Camp is a program designed for adults with special needs.  Volunteers receive training in camper care in a two-day session prior to the start of camp.  Volunteers are expected to stay on site during the entire camp program and may be assigned one to three campers.  Two nurses are on site to handle all medications and assist where needed.  All that is required to volunteer is a heart of compassion and love!  We’ll take care of the rest!

Our cottage on Lake Huron up in East Tawas was destroyed by the waves

No parking for the golf carts right now.

WOW! We are having the same problem on Lake St.Clair 😢

Wow, never thought it would reach the fire pit area! Do you have houses in trouble over there. We had a house fall into Lake MI near Muskegon.

🙏 Praying more damage doesn’t happen. Thinking of this Special Place.

Wow. Looks like some clean up work is ahead.
