Improvements for 2018
Looking for Some Improvements at Camp?
You’ll be excited to hear the upgrades we have in to store for you!
The Board of Directors for Michigan Area United Methodist Camping announced significant investments into facility infrastructure and upgrades throughout its properties, most of which will be in place for the 2018 season.
“We are committed to offering outstanding, faith-based programs and the Board recognizes a need to maintain and, in some cases, improve our facilities,” explained Board President Joel Wortley. “Campers and retreat visitors have asked for these, such as bath house remodeling at older facilities or stronger electrical service for RVs. We believe everyone will be excited about these renovations.”
A partial list of upgrades includes:
Wesley Woods: Remodel bath house on “the hill,” improved pool filtration
Lake Huron: Wi-Fi upgrades throughout campus, backup generator for Littleton Lodge, roof for dining hall.
Lake Michigan: RV-friendly upgrades to roads, dump station and electrical. Build family cabins.
Start replacing aging vehicles in our fleet.
Start replacing aging lawn maintenance equipment and golf carts.
Adding new / replacing aging docks.
“The board is asking for help in meeting these goals,” Wortley explained. “In order to keep rates lower for campers, we are looking to our supporters to partially fund the improvements. We know camp changes lives, and that’s why we continue to reach for excellence in our facilities and programs.”
May God bless you and your family this Christmas!
