Pole Barn Fundraiser
While there are many major repair and upgrades needed at Lake Michigan Camp & Retreat, the highest priority is a proper place to work on maintenance projects and a secure place to store and to protect the camp’s equipment and tools. Without this, we are fighting a losing battle and are not being good stewards of what God has provided. Therefore, as a first step, we are asking for your support as we RAISE THE ROOF for a new pole barn. I hope this will be just the beginning of improvements for this sacred camp that so many of us love and call our happy place.
Today’s Reality
- 40+-year-old storage barn
- With holes in the roof
- That is rotting away
- Tools, equipment and supplies exposed outdoor elements and not secured.
The Solution
Build a new Pole Barn!
Pay for it as we go (build exterior, then add flooring, interior walls and electric as financially supported)

For illustration purposes only. Not actual plans.
FUNDRAISING GOAL
$35,000 (36’x48′ barn)
IMMEDIATE GOAL (by July 15)
$21,600
Why the rush? What size barn will we build?
WHY NOW?
For three weeks this summer Lake Michigan Camp & Retreat is privileged to host a group of NOMADS. These men and women are a part of a ministry of the United Methodist Church that provides volunteer labor for United Methodist organizations. IF we can raise the funds needed to purchase the materials for this project the Nomads will RAISE THE ROOF. This volunteer labor will save us thousands of dollars and allow us to have our roof raised in time for winter storage.
CAN WE DO IT?
Yes, with your help!
GIVE NOW
Here is the deal:
We believe a Pole Barn at Lake Michigan Camp & Retreat is needed but this can only happen with your help. Are you willing to sacrifice for your sacred place? The Pole Barn will only be built if we can raise the funds. And the size of the barn will be determined on July 15 based on the funds raised. If we have $11,117 we will build a 24′ x 36′ but if we raise $21,600 we will RAISE THE ROOF and build the BHAG pole barn at 36′ x 48′.
It’s up to YOU!
