See What’s Swinging at Lake Huron
New Firepit Swing, Golf Cart and Parking Lot
It’s been a beautiful summer here at the lakeshore with 37 different groups enjoying times of worship, study and fellowship here at the Center. Guests experienced the fine level of hospitality our staff continues to provide, along with clean, comfortable rooms and excellent food service. We have been blessed by volunteers spending time improving the facility and by the many financial gifts by our loving donor family. Following are just a few of the highlights from the summer season.
Our NOMADS returned in June and completed numerous projects including repairs to the south balcony of Littleton Lodge, repairs to the roof of Kresge Dining Hall and lots of landscape work!
A fund-raising project for a new golf cart was completed and the cart purchased! We’ve used this for our summer camps programs as well as maintenance projects.
Funds for a beautiful new swing was gifted by a faithful crew of “Down River Folks” and constructed by our own Dan Markey and our NOMADS crew. It includes a small fire pit in the center – it’s been well used this summer!
Our parking lot received some major repair work in September which resulted in patchwork, seal coat and striping. It looks great and is ready for the winter season.
